Winnipeg Alumni Ambassador

Dr. Leland (Lee) McFadden graduated from the University Of Alberta, School Of Dentistry in 1978. After completing his Dental Internship at the University of Alberta and spending two years in private dental practice he was accepted into the Graduate Studies program at Dalhousie University where he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and received his MSc in 1984. Upon completion of his studies at Dalhousie he moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, to begin his practice. He is now an assistant professor at the University Of Manitoba, Faculty Of Dentistry where he has been active in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate level in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Orthodontics.

Dr. McFadden has served as the President of the Medical Staff at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. He has also been active in organized dentistry having served as the President of the Manitoba Dental Association, the Canadian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. At present, Dr. McFadden serves as the Registrar of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

Dr. McFadden has been fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in several Cleft Palate Surgical Missions, organized by Dalhousie University Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, to Viet Nam.

Lee enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and fishing and camping. Lee and his wife Debbie have four children as well as four grandchildren. They enjoy opportunities to travel.
