Join one of Dalhousie’s original volunteer groups
The Women’s Division of the Dalhousie Alumni Association was established in 1909. A 15-person executive committee leads this 200-member group of alumnae. The division’s priorities include student scholarships and awards, Shirreff Hall, and other community initiatives. The Division’s annual Student Musicale has been the main scholarship fundraising event for more than 20 years. The division also hosts a variety of social activities such as an annual luncheon, events in Shirreff Hall in support of a variety of upgrades for the building and its facilities, and celebrations in honour of milestone anniversaries such as the centennial in 2009.
Please contact the Women’s Division president, Margaret Cameron at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on getting involved with this group.
White Ribbon Campaign
The Women’s Division supports the White Ribbon Campaign, which honours the memory of fourteen young women who were murdered on December 6, 1989 at École Polythecnique in Montreal. In supporting the campaign, we pledge: never to commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women and girls.
We are committed to supporting a safer, violence-free environment for women on campus, and to the development of goals and actions aligned with this vision. We are committed to using language that is respectful of all and that honours the dignity of every individual.
Join the Women’s Division of the Dalhousie Alumni Association on Saturday, May 10 for a luncheon with author and guest speaker Pamela Callow. A proud Kings/Dalhousie alumna, Pamela will provide a snapshot of her journey to this point in her life, beginning with her three Dalhousie degrees.
