Management alumnus Paul Sobey (BComm’78) has accepted the invitation to serve as chancellor of Saint Mary’s University (SMU). Sobey is a well-known businessman, and the former president and CEO of Empire Company Limited.

Sobey follows in the footsteps of his father, Dr. David F. Sobey, who served as SMU’s chancellor from 2008-2010.

For his many achievements in business and leadership, Sobey received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013.
