Mark de Jonge (BEng’09) wins world championship
Yesterday, professional athlete Mark de Jonge (BEng’09) added another medal to his list of accomplishments. The sprint kayaker won the gold medal in the men’s K-1 200m event at the World Championships in Milan, Italy. As the previous champion in this event, De Jonge defended his world title.
It has been a successful summer for De Jonge, who also won two medals in July’s Pan Am Games.
De Jonge was the only Canadian to win a gold medal at this year’s World Championships. Congratulations!
