Four alumni traveling to U.N. climate conference to represent Canadian youth
Four Dal alumni are preparing to embark to Paris, France to attend a major United Nations conference on climate change as part of the Canadian Youth Delegation.
The 21st annual Conference of the Parties (COP 21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will take place from November 30 to December 11, 2015 in Paris.
World leaders will come together to discuss the impacts of climate change and work towards international policies to address climate change.
Bethany Hindmarsh (BA’15), Diane Connors (MREM’13), Katie Perfitt (MREM’14), and Stephen Thomas (BEng’13) will represent young Canadians at COP 21, advocating for strong policies that address climate change.
These alumni will be joined by fourteen other Canadians between 20 and 29 years of age from across the nation.
Together, they plan to produce a variety of media to inform Canadians at home of the progress of the negotiations (including a podcast and daily newsletter), engage in strategic direct action in Paris, as well as follow and interpret policy developments at COP 21.
