Dan Falk (BSc’89) is among the recipients of the 2015 Science in Society Journalism Awards, presented by the Canadian Science Writers’ Association (CSWA).

He received the 2015 Science in Society Journalism Award for “Getting Smarter“, an article about U of T computer scientist Geoffrey Hinton.

In the article, Falk addresses Hinton’s belief that artificial intelligence will very soon transform everything humans do.

Other awards issued by CSWA include the General Book Award, the Children/Middle Grades Book Award and the Emerging Journalist Award.
