Come Home to Dalhousie!

With Homecoming 2015 just around the corner, Dalhousie spirit is in full force once again. Our Halifax campuses are bustling with activity as we prepare to welcome alumni from the Class of 1945 to the Class of 2015 back to their alma mater for Dal Homecoming celebrations – October 15-17. Many of the faculties host special events – or even a full weekend’s worth of activities – for their returning alumni to celebrate and reconnect. There are also several special events targeted both to alumni and to the broader Dalhousie community.

On the morning of October 17th, President Florizone will be hosting the President’s Fun Run/Walk  – a three-campus run, walk, jog or stroll. This is a crowd-pleasing event open to the Dalhousie community, including alumni, students, and faculty and staff.  Enjoy a post-run brunch, music and prizes – fun for the whole family!

Kick off

Homecoming kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the grand opening of the Wallace McCain Learning Commons, a collaborative learning space connected to the Life Sciences Centre. All are welcome! The annual Alumni Dinner follows that evening, honouring the Dalhousie Alumni Association’s prestigious 2015 award recipients.

Faculty celebrations

A whole host of faculty events are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16 and through Saturday, Oct. 17. Here are a few highlights:

• Breakfast with Faculty of Management alumni and students
• The Dalhousie Medical Alumni Association’s 57th Annual Awards Gala & Recognition Dinner

Wait, there’s more!

Don’t miss the family-friendly Homecoming Concert on the Quad with the band Party Boots on the Friday evening with refreshments. Plus, the newly formed Dal Alumni Halifax Chapter is hosting a pre-show “Alumni Lounge” in cooperation with Fusion Halifax with cash bar and complimentary appetizers. The festivities cap off with the Homecoming football game on Saturday, Oct. 17: Dal Tigers vs. Fredericton on Wickwire Field at 7 p.m.
