With founder and CEO Shelley Simpson-McKay (BComm’93) at the helm, SGS Solutions is considering entering a new market for its award-winning portable, rechargeable battery solution. The ShowBattery was produced for exhibition and trade show exhibitors to avoid the costs of electric installations. Pairing the batteries with LED lighting also offers a “green” advantage in the lucrative trade show industry. Now the Dartmouth company is planning to develop a product for skiers to use on the slopes at night.

Simpson-McKay has teamed up with Dalhousie’s Innovation in Design Lab (iDLab) to continue working on inventive, practical solutions.
