Breton Brewing, co-founded by Bryan MacDonald (BEng’07), recently received a financial boost from the federal government.

The Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) has issued the business an $86,000 loan. The brewery previously received $168,750 in January 2015.

The announcement came from MP Mark Eyking (Dip (Agricultural Business)’80) of Sydney-Victoria, a fellow Dalhousie graduate.

Breton brewers in demand

The funds will allow the owners to meet increasing demand.

“With this expansion we will be able to put two of our flagship beers — Black Angus IPA and our Red Coat — on the shelves of the NSLC.”

“We’re very excited about that,” says MacDonald.
