Dr. Wanda Thomas Bernard
Dr. Wanda Thomas Bernard (MSW’77) is one of three Dalhousie community members set to receive the Order of Nova Scotia.

Dr. Bernard is a former director of the Maritime School of Social Work at Dalhousie. She is also a founding member of the Association of Black Social Workers.

The Order of Nova Scotia is the province’s highest honour. Dr. Bernard is already a member of the Order of Canada, and a recipient of both the Nova Scotia Human Rights Award and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.
