Hall of Fame

Former Tigers women’s basketball player Anna (Pendergast) Stammberger and volleyball players (and brothers) Paul and Eric Villeneuve were inducted to the Dalhousie Sport Hall of Fame on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at the sixth induction ceremony.

Paul Villeneuve (BPE’93) & Eric Villeneuve (BA’95)

The Villeneuve brothers both played five years with the Tigers, sharing the court for three of those seasons. Between them, they have four CIAU (CIS) medals, three CIAU (CIS) second team all-Canadian selections, 10 AUAA (AUS) titles, six AUAA (AUS) all-star nods, four Tigers volleyball team MVPs and two Dalhousie rookie of the year awards.

Anna (Pendergast) Stammberger (BPE’83)
A member of the Dalhousie women’s basketball team (1978-83), Anna is a three-time AUAA (AUS) all-star, two-time MVP and two-time CIAU (CIS) All-Canadian. She helped lead the Tigers to a silver medal at the national championship in 1979-81 and a bronze in 1981-82. A 12 year member of Canada’s national team, she went on to play 15 seasons in the German semi-professional Bundesliga league.

About the Dalhousie Sport Hall of Fame

The Dalhousie Sport Hall of Fame is designed to recognize individuals and teams who have achieved excellence while representing Dalhousie University in athletic competition. The first induction ceremony took place in October of 2004 and took place biannually until 2015 when it was combined with the Tigers annual dinner and auction.
